加盟職棒第三年，打擊率就突破三成。

2009年以打擊率.355、46分打點、6支全壘打，獲得當年中華職棒最佳進步獎。

 2010年鄭達鴻以他優異的攻守能力以外站穩當家捕手位置，

同年並展現了腳程優勢，

以31次盜壘獲得當年度盜壘王頭銜，

是中華職棒首位守備位置為捕手的盜壘王。

鄭達鴻曾經說過：「一般都覺得捕手和盜壘不會連結在一起。而且你的目標不只是盜壘而已，蹲捕還要蹲好，

為什麼常說捕手只要專心守備就好，因為捕手的負擔很大，但我可以打得好、蹲得好，又拿盜壘王。」
